Man in critical condition after fall from window in Tonge Moor

A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from a window.

The man, believed to be in his 40s,was found in the street with serious head injuries just after 5pm yesterday.

Police were called to Thicketford Road, Tonge Moor, and a large cordon was in place, with residents unable to leave their homes.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to Thicketford Road, Bolton, at about 5.20pm to reports a man had been found in the street with serious head injuries.

"It is believed that the man, believed to be in his 40s, received the injuries after he fell from a window.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident."

Thicketford Road was closed in both directions between Ainsworth Lane and Le Gendre Street.

Local bus services were diverted, and road users were being advised to use alternative routes where possible.
