The Victorian government has unveiled its road map to ease restrictions once vaccination targets are reached.

“Make no mistake, we are opening this place up,” said Premier Daniel Andrews.

Almost all of the permitted activities from November 7, when the state is expected to hit its 70 per cent second dose coverage, will only be allowed for fully vaccinated Victorians.

Schools

Year 12 students are allowed to return to face-to-face learning five days per week from October 5.

Prep students will be allowed to go back to face-to-face learning in classrooms for three days per week and Year 1 and Year 2 students will be able to return to classrooms for two days per week from October 18.

The remaining year levels will return to school between two and five days per week from October 26.

Childcare

Childcare will open to all children from October 26 if both parents are fully vaccinated.

Masks

Mandatory masks will remain.

Gatherings

From Christmas Day, private gatherings in homes will increase to 30 people.
