Basketball-shooting robot wows at half-time of USA-France game

With no fans in attendance at this year’s Olympics, you would think there would be little need for an entertainment act at half-time.

Think again.

During Sunday’s basketball game between the United States and France in Japan, a 7-foot-tall robot was trotted out and displayed its mechanical shooting form. The robot drained shots from the free-throw line, above the 3-point break and at half court.

The robot scooted back to each line, but traveling wasn’t called.

No truth to the rumor that an NBA team is trying to sign the robot to a max contract.
